Explore interior catacomb tunnel in Warstone Lane cemetery that was used as an Air Raid Shelter during WW2.

Come join us for a special interior catacomb tunnel tour at Warstone Lane cemetery to commemorate an early V.E Day!

Explore the historical catacombs located inside Warstone Lane cemetery at Vyse Street, near Pitsford Street.

Learn about the history and significance of this unique location that civilians used as an Air Raid Shelter during WWII.

This is a rare opportunity to view the inside interior tunnel of the semi-circular catacombs Warstone Lane Cemetery.

Hidden Birmingham come and learn about the history of the semi-circular catacombs Warstone Lane Cemetery and why they were created.

Going further back in time and acquire the knowledge about the printer John Baskerville who died once but whose body was moved several times.

There will be one tunnel/ chamber open in the catacombs and no human remains or coffins will be seen.

The duration of the tour is about 20 to 40 minutes depending on Q & A that is encouraged.

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before the Warstone catacomb tour commences at 1.15pm to allow time to check in and collect your admittance badge at the information stall / gazebo in Warstone Lane cemetery.

Only those with a ticket will be admitted.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear.

If you wish to book tickets for neighbouring Key Hill catacombs/ chambers interior tour, please book this separately allowing time between each tour and the walk to neigbouring Key Hill cemetery.

Check in for the Key Hill catacomb chamber tour is also at Warstone Lane for this one day only.

Friends of Key Hill Cemetery & Warstone Lane Cemetery who are all volunteers, officially formed in 2004 and are the only group to care for the cemeteries as well as raising funds for damaged and broken graves aiding the Friends restoration fund. This is achieved via membership, guided cemetery tours, catacomb tours, talks and presentations, sales at open days and history fairs , plus donations ,this revenue aids the Friends Grave Restoration Fund for damaged & broken graves.
